Hang in there. I'm working on getting this page completed. In the meantime, check out Kafele's pages of logs to see what has happened in the past.

I have come to the conclusion that Kafele's wonderful link to his logs makes a lot more sense than adding page after page of synopsis. So, please check it out to see what's actually happening in Realms.
However, I'm going to keep this page up as a sort of background/history for those of you new to the world. I hope you enjoy reading what happened back in the beginning!

ISIS <I>    May thru June 26th, 2001
For those of you new to the MUCK or who have missed the current TP going on in Bubastis, here's an quick recap of what's happened and an update on new occurrences.
A few months ago, the goddess Isis joined and moved into the town of Bubastis. She was quickly noticed by her sister goddess, Bastet who befriended her. She also was noticed by the god, Anubis. Isis is a younger goddess and tends to do things sometimes without careful thought for the outcome. She ended up spending some time in a bottle for her rather foolish threats to the, then Queen and mortal, Nefertari. But she paid her debt so to speak and won her release.
Unfortunately, another noticed her arrival also...an evil monster with some powers of his own. He brutally attacked her and stole her Father's ring from her finger. The ring held great power for it's wearer, but only if they knew how to use it. Luckily Apep did not. Unluckily for Isis, he knew *she* did.
Her bruised and beaten body was found by her new body-guard, Kafele. He was angry and upset that someone could be so cruel and vowed to help her find who did this. With the help of Bastet and Anubis, she was nursed back to physical health. But then *it* began...visions, strange voices and empty blocks of time. Slowly learning some of the rings' power, Apep was working his way into her mind, seeking the knowledge he needed.
Between them; Isis, Kafele, Anubis and Bastet began to try to find the creature and stop him. Kafele even taught Isis how to use a knife properly and gave her his own. He made her promise to always carry it with her. With the knife concealed in her gown, the two began to prowl the streets of the city...looking for the creature with the eyes that Isis had been seeing in her visions. They spotted him one late night, but he eluded them, vanishing into the crowded streets and leaving only his laughter echoing in the dark.
Their next encounter is not so un-eventful. They spot him in the street sellers' district and move forward. He too spots someone and a plan is formed. Nefertari, alone and unguarded, is shopping that evening and, spotting Isis, she lifts her hand to wave. Apep grabs her, thrusts her in front of himself and turns to Isis, triumph in his eyes. She and Kafele try to convince him that his fight is with them, not a mortal Queen. Nefertari, frightened, struggles in her captors' grip. He slips the knife up against her neck and begins to taunt Isis. Unknowingly, the sharp blade slices into the unprotected skin and Nefertari slips from his grasp, dead before she hits the ground.
Oddly, Apep curses and, unseen, reaches into a pouch at his side, dipping the knife into it just before a horrified Isis breaks free of Kafele and, her knife upraised, charges him. Of course she has no chance against such a foe and Apep strikes her before Kafele can even react..a very shallow wound to her chest...but a seemingly fatal injury.
There follows a battle such as many here have not seen in a great long time. It looks for a moment as if even Kafele will not be able to stop Apep. But then, the god, Anubis steps in and the odds change. Moments later, Apep is lying dead on the ground, Anubis has recovered the ring and Kafele is lifting the body of his charge and carrying her home.
As shallow as the wound is, it immediately festers. Kafele begs Anubis to do something...to not let her die. But Anubis realizes now that Apep had poison in his pouch and that the wound is fatal...even to a goddess. Using his powers, he buys Isis and Kafele a little time..a few precious days. She removes a gold ring from her finger and gives it to Kafele, making him promise her that he will never be without it. Shortly later, she dies in his arms.
Kafele refuses to let Anubis take the body, but finally realizes what must be. Bastet stays to comfort him, preventing him from throwing himself off the roof of the building. He insists he has failed Isis and his Tribe and that he should die and join her. Bastet goes to Anubis and begs him to do something. She asserts that goddess's should not die and that she will not lose her sister!
*******************************************************************
Meanwhile, Anubis has two very sad Ka's to care for. Nefertari is allowed to take a scroll back to the palace and leave it for Ramses. In it, Anubis tells him he has a limited amount of time to seek out the god of the Underworld and request his Queen be returned to the living. That sent, he begins to search for a way to bring Isis back.
Days turn into weeks which turn into months before the beleaguered god finally finds what he needs to do. He tells Kafele what must be done first and between them, they steal the scepter back <Long story...another time> and then set to work to make sense out the second requirement. During this time, Anubis also explains to Kafele that Isis cannot return in the same form or same body as she had. The magic poison killed that body for all time. It is up to Kafele to choose her new form. In his heart he knows what form that should be, but he worries greatly over whether his choice is the correct one and the one Isis, herself would choose.
Isis' Ka appears to him and tells him his heart will give him the answer. Comforted by the knowledge that remark gives, he tries to help Anubis find the last key to her return. It's here that Bastet steps in and tells the pair they have had the power all along. She asks for Sebs' ring and then asks Kafele if he has Isis' ring. Holding them up, she shows the bewildered two that they fit together. Anubis immediately knows what must be done and works his magic to set the spell. Bastet leaves them and it begins.........
************************************************************
With the room swirling and the Obsidian Gateway opening, Kafele calls out her name and gives his choice for her new form...a lioness. Unfortunately, just as his words end, Anubis unknowingly adds a thought of his own and...an ancient crone of a lioness with Isis' eyes steps from the beyond. Kafele is stunned and seeing his expression, Isis turns and walks back through the door. Anubis instantly begins the magic again, adding more 'Youth Dew'. Kafele calls out once again for her to return to the living. The room begins to flash and thunder!
Once more, the Gateway opens, spilling mist into the room. When it clears, Anubis is revealed, his arms upraised and holding in them a blanketed bundle. Two tiny ears appear first, followed by a pair of bright eyes and a tiny nose. Isis has returned....as a lioness... CUB. Blinking, Anubis dumps the bundle into Kafele's arms and shrugs. "Guess I used too much Youth-Dew. No matter, she'll grow." With that, he turns and walks away, leaving Kafele with a cub who smiles up at him and says "Papa?"
******************************************************
Kafele is now caring for Isis who is growing at an alarming rate.  Well, perhaps not really.  She *is* a goddess and this would be a sad ending if he ended up simply raising a cub. Anubis did hint about goddess's growing up faster........ or something. ;>
So, if you like what's been happening, join in on the fun. It's only beginning.
And, if Isis could get into so much trouble as an adult goddess, think of what she can do as a *child* goddess! ;>

ISIS <II>  June 27th, 2001-

Poor Kafele. Not only did he lose his *goddess* just as he really found her, but now he must take a crash course in being a Father....a *Papa* to a cub who has powers she's not even aware of, let alone in control of!
************************************
Kafele's first days as a *Papa* are filled with teaching the tiny cub essential things...eating, grooming, making her way in the world. She appears to learn quickly and, at the same time, it soon becomes obvious that she is growing faster, both physically and mentally, than a normal cub would. And then....there are those flashes of memories...odd little moments when her eyes seem older and wiser than they should...when one can see something there that wouldn't typically be found in the eyes of a cub.
Isis quickly make it known to her Papa that she will sleep nowhere but curled up securely on his chest. Even from the very beginning, she has an affinity for his mane...darting there at the first sign of danger or fear. And she has no problems whatsoever letting anyone else know this mane is *hers*!
The days are filled with fairly normal activities...eating, sleeping, exploring, visiting Uncle 'nubi. But then things begin to change. Kafele ia awakened one morning to find Isis sprawled out on the floor beside his bed....reading a scroll. The thing is, she's actually reading it, her impossibly tiny paw tracing the cartouche that contains her name. She has managed to discover a scroll containing her story...the story of the goddess, Isis, and it seems to trigger memories. When she finds the glyphs for 'Father' she gives Kafele a quizzical look and then drops her eyes back to the scroll whispering "Papa?" Suddenly, she angrily rolls the scroll up tightly and crams it beneath the bed, asserting the entire time, "Papa here! Isis here!" Although Kafele cannot read, he senses what might be happening and quickly attempts to distract her by scooping her up and carrying up onto the roof. She is entranced by the view, especially of the sun. "Isis see Ra! Isis go ride with Ra?" Spotting a bird flying, she reaches out. "Bird fly with Ra!" Kafele hugs her close and tells her that she cannot go ride with Ra. But he sees the bird, recognizing it for what it is and wonders what it might portend.
A few days later, she comes up missing, only to be found by Anubis and Kafele sitting in her old room, surrounded by the gowns, sandals and jewels of her former self. She is extremely confused when Kafele, not wanting to lie to her, explains that they are hers. How could these gowns possibly ever fit her? And these sandals! They're too small and impossibly narrow! Angry at not understanding, she grabs all of the clothing to stuff back in the chest when...a golden circlet drops out, rolling across the floor. Anubis dives for it before Isis can, stunned that it's here and wondering HOW? Isis just wants it, sensing it's importance. Anubis glares, declaring it much too important an item for a cub to play with......much too dangerous! Seeking the only comfort she knows of at the moment, Isis dives into her Papa's mane. After a few moments, she begins to murmur words in another language...oodly familiar words. The ring on her own paw begins to glow at the same time as the golden circlet Anubis holds begins to get quite warm, vibrating against his fur. Stunned, he tells Kafele that she is attempting to cast a spell. His words barely fade before a very familiar voice speaks from the haven of Kafele's mane. "You will give it back to me in time. It is my ring! It belongs to me. I died for that ring. Now, I will live for it." Before either can really react, she is herself again and hungry.
A constantly recurring theme in her daily life is questions and comments about her 'Isis Bird'. Both Kafele and Anubis know that she speaks of her Ka..her kite...her' Isis Bird' that vanished when her mortal body died from Apep's poison. It has yet to return to her, although it is occasionally seen by all of them. One afternoon, as she, Kafele and Atete are shopping, Isis meets a wood carver in one of the stalls. His name is, inexplicably, Seb. He offers to carve something for her and from his talented fingers appears the beautiful figure of a Kite. He hands it to the young cub and whispers. "This will be your Isis-bird until such time as she returns."
